A video on the state of abstraction as both a philosophical and an artistic term in relation to the specific condition of production and circulation of information in today's surface-data dominated world. Using a video-essay format and a non-linear narrative, the work focuses, on the one hand, the ontologic similarities between light and information and on the other, lays out the intertwined relationship between these two “materials” in time. The film makes references to images and forms that are displayed in history as some of the basic tools for interpretation and transference of data (be it scientific, philosophical or religious), aiming to find a common element working through the wide perspective of the universe and the specificity of objects.
